TREATMENTS
Dr. Feit believes strongly in conservative,
non-surgical treatment for TMJ Dysfunction and/or Snoring and Sleep Apnea.. He
performs a comprehensive exam with a thorough history to determine what course
of treatment is best. Sometimes an oral appliance is recommended for
temporomandibular or snoring treatment. This treatment is inexpensive,
non-invasive and easily accepted by patients. Patients are also taught
self-care techniques to improve their condition between treatments.
Temporomandibular
Joint Disorder (TMJ) Craniomandibular Joint Dysfunction (CMD)

factors like trauma and occlusion. Pain complaints may involve the chewing
muscles, the jaw joints, the jaws or even the teeth. Our office provides
state-of-the-art computerized technology for diagnosis and treatment of TMJ and
CMD. Our practice philosophy is a conservative, non-surgical

Snoring &
Sleep Apnea
What seems like simple snoring can be a serious
medical disorder when accompanied by episodes of not breathing for at least 10
seconds up to 30 times a night. This is when snoring becomes sleep apnea.
Symptoms to determine whether or not snoring is a problem may include:
- Morning headaches
- Dry mouth and throat in the morning
- Excessive daytime sleepiness
- Lost interest in sex
- Sudden short-of-breath awakenings (choking or gasping)
Many times snoring can be treated with a simple
oral appliance in lieu of surgery or complying to CPAP. Only a dentist with
special training and knowledge can make the appropriate appliance. After an
intra-oral exam is performed, the conservative oral appliance approach is
custom-made for the individual patient.
